Hamstrung

26th October

He’s definitely not dead. He’s just ‘resting’...

But now, Hamlet’s infamous court jester is BACK to dig up the skeletons of his misspent life in this playful, irreverent take on Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy.

Exploring themes of performance, love and the afterlife, Hamstrung is a queer, one-person Shakespearean ghost story that plunges the depths of the melancholy Dane's fellow of infinite jest.

Join this existentially troubled clown as he rescues his untold story from the canon, in a tragicomic excavation that asks whose stories get to be told, and what it means for theatre to be ‘live’ when the performers themselves are not.

To see or not to see? There is no question.

Written & Performed by George Rennie.

Directed by Lisa Millar
