Play Reading: June

"Why is it when you put socks in the wash they always come out without a partner?"

Everyone knows the urban legend of The Sock Monster.

June St Louis first saw The Creature when she was seven, then again at twelve. She has been in and out of institutions ever since. Her brother Jimmy was the only person who can tell the doctors at St Stephen's Psychiatric Hospital that June is not crazy. But now Jimmy is dead and June has to battle with the stern, cynical Dr Montgomery and her apprentice Dr Wren, for a chance to be released to attend his funeral. St Stephens is a sinister place and nothing is what it seems.

Luckily June has an ally in young nurse Isaac but time is running out...

'June' is a spooky thriller brought to you by the writer and producer of 'Bones Bones' (FreshFest 2023)
