COMEDY WITHOUT BORDERS

Comedy Without Borders is a night of stand-up comedy showcasing some of the most exciting talent on the circuit.

It is a safe space, for both audiences and comedians alike to laugh and connect.

Guaranteeing a range of different perspectives, and material from various backgrounds and experiences, Ophélie Hocquard (as heard on radio 4 extra) and Joseph Cullen (VAULT Festival Best Newcomer 2017) present some of their favourite comedians. This month’s line-up includes:

Chloe Petts: Funny Women Award Runner Up 2017, Finalist Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year 2017. “Inexhaustibly funny mind” (Diva Magazine), “Compelling presence” (Steve Bennett, Chortle),

Arielle Souma : NATYS finalist 2017, So You Think You’re Funny finalist 2016, Frog & Bucket Manchester “World Series finalist” 2016, Fresh Comedian of the year finalist 2016. “Arielle Souma is just what the comedy industry needs and should be forced upon every audience until they buckle under her spell.” Frankie Boyle

Luke Poulton: Luke tells stories about living with Autism and jokes about crap movies that no one else wants to watch. “Witty, well executed and gets the audience on board with him from the very start” Views from the Gods online magazine.

Yumna Mohamed: Originally from Johannesburg, Yumna is a self-loathing, cat-loving Muslim who was a BBC New Comedy Award finalist in 2017, and So You Think You’re Funny finalist in 2015, but more importantly, was once boo’ed off stage at the Apollo theatre in New York City.

Jen Wakefield: As seen on the Edinburgh BBC Asian Network Comedy showcase. Host of ‘The Comeback’ podcast for BBC Radio 1. “A keen observer, gifted mimic, and frankly move busting dancer” EdFest Magazine

Ken Cheng: Dave joke of the Fringe Winner 2017. From Radio 4’s The Now Show, Comedy central at the Comedy Story, Celebrity Eggheads and BBC Three’s Top Tens. Ken is the writer and star of his own BBC Radio 4 series, Chinese Comedian. In 2019, he will also co-host E4’s brand new gameshow The Hangover Games.
