PLAYS ROUGH LONDON PRESENTS

EPISODE 10: RETURN ROUGH-IANS & 24 HOUR PLAY CHALLENGE

Plays Rough London’s 10th new writing night! To celebrate we are putting on two different shows: Return Rough-ians and a 24 hour play challenge

RETURN ROUGH-IANS (SUNDAY 18TH OF NOVEMBER 7.45PM)

People who have collaborated with us before have come back to play again!

Don’t miss four shorts plays that are all completely different and accidentally all oddly macabre.

Gravediggers by Josh King

Life in a cult is more than just mass-suicides and transcendental ascension. For the gravediggers, it's about the endless task of burying the soulless bodies left behind and dreaming of the plane beyond.

Man Versus Morphy Richards (Deus Ex Wilkos) by Matthew Jameson

One man buys a toaster that steadily ruins his life.

Blasphemy by Caroline Buckley

A wall of cages. Three people survive. They disagree on why they can’t escape.

Blackroft by Christopher Keegan

Victorian London. Doctor Thomas Doogan’s unfortunate decent into a world of darkness and doom.

24 HOUR PLAY CHALLENGE (MONDAY 19TH OF NOVEMBER 7.45PM)

5 short plays will be created and staged in 24 hours!

At 7.50pm on 18th Nov we will Facebook live-stream our writers receiving their inspiration. They will then work overnight creating their immediate response. The directors and actors will only have 8 hours to rehearse before the curtain is up! Who knows what they will create, you will have to come along to find out!

Open applications were held for writers, directors and actors to take part in the challenge. If you would like to be involved in one of our future challenges follow us to find out about opportunities.

Since February 2016 we’ve been producing new-writing nights in theatres and alternative spaces. Our aim is to provide a stage to facilitate personal growth and the development of projects. In order to be creative we have to experiment. We are a space where you can take risks and fail, so that when you succeed it is spectacular not just safe!
