Scratch

‘Scratch’ is a bi-annual new writing event by Izzy Parriss Productions. The event will be launching its first showcase at the Old Red Lion Theatre Pub on the 11th, 12th and 13th of January 2023. This event will platform 6 emerging playwrights through a 60-minute performance of 6 new short plays.

About Izzy Parriss Productions:

 

Izzy Parriss Productions is a London based new writing theatrical production company set up in 2021. They commission, develop and present compelling, truthful and imaginative new theatre. Their debut production Dear Little Loz was platformed by theSpace at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2022 and received multiple 5* and 4* reviews. They currently have two new full length plays in development.

About the Director/Curator:

 

Izzy Parriss (she/her) is a theatre director and producer based in London. Izzy graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2020 with a master’s in philosophy and went on to complete an internship with the New York based theatre company Yonder Window. 

She has worked freelance for companies such as Ambassador Theatre Group, Theatre503, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Three Sisters Productions, Tightrope Theatre and Bomb Factory Theatre. Izzy set up this production company in 2021 and platformed its debut play Dear Little Loz at the Edinburgh Fringe 2022. 

 

Most recently she was the producer and associate director of IKARIA (Old Red Lion Theatre Pub, November 2022) which received multiple 5* and 4* reviews.

 

About the Creative Producer:

 

Maddy Chisholm-Scott (she/her) is a theatre producer. She recently produced a 5* production of 'Curtains' at Edinburgh Fringe 2022 for EUSOG. She was also an assistant producer with Grace Dickson Productions for 'Bogeyman' (Lagahoo Productions) and 'Project Dictator' (Rhum and Clay) at Edinburgh Fringe 2022. 

 

Most recently, she has worked with Unleash The Llama Productions as producer for their London run of the sell-out show 'Man of 100 faces'. Furthermore, she was the producer of 'Cyanide at 5' with at the Kings Head Theatre, and producer of 'Nines' with Black Bat Productions at the Canal Café Theatre. 

 

About the Administrative Producer:

 

Enrose Ramos (she/her) has been working in theatre since 2016. She recently made the change from creative facilitation to producing. During her theatre-making career, she has worked with many organisations in Bristol, Plymouth and London, including Troubadour Theatre, ACTA Community Theatre, Travelling Light Theatre Company, Brave Bold Drama and Abeille Theatre, among others. She has studied for a Foundation degree in Therapeutic Arts and a BA in Theatre and Performing Arts. She received the Thelma Holt Award for Excellence in Theatre from the Plymouth Conservatoire.

 

She has practical experience working closely with directors and other producers to create the right creative and administrative environment to produce engaging work.

Enrose is passionate about storytelling through movement, theatre and film.

 

About the Lighting Designer:

 

Shane Gill (he/him) is a freelance lighting designer based in London. Along with design, Shane works at Pearl in University College London where he fuses his love of theatre and science to create realistic immersive experiments to improve how people interact with cities. Recent design credits include Ikaria (Old Red Lion Theatre Pub), Blister (Dublin Fringe Festival),  Fridget (Dublin Fringe Festival, Winner of Little Gem Award), The Shaughraun (Smock Alley Theatre), Bump (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Test Dummy, Electric (Irish National Tour) and Disco Pigs/Sucking Dublin (Reality:check productions).

Performance times: 7.30pm

Tickets: £12.50

 

The show is 60 minutes with no interval.
