Shakespeare's what you will
Christmas Ain't Over Just Yet... It's Twelfth Night!
The date on which the Christmas Season officially ends... most people have already exhausted all their jolliness, gone back to work and joined a gym. But we say, F*ck Dry January - let's keep the party going!
Celebrate the start of a new year with a big festive one night only classic Shakespearean comedy.
Presented by MediumRare Productions, Resident Company of the Old Red Lion Theatre since 2023, this post-crimbo, part-pantomime, part-gig, part improvised booze-fuelled production of the Bard's most beloved comedy of gender-bending anarchism & revelry is the perfect way to round off your yuletide.
Washed up on the shores of Illyria, Viola disguises herself as her supposedly dead brother to serve the lovesick Duke Orsino. But when Countess Olivia falls for the Duke's new messenger "boy" a twisted triangle soon causes chaos. Meanwhile a pair of drunken knights and a naughty maid make a fool out of the tyrannical steward Malvolio. Strap on a pair of yellow stockings and get ready to sing along in this immersive party, welcoming 2026 in a truly theatrical banquet of debauchery! Just what Willy would've wanted.
Starring a host of familiar faces at the Old Red Lion Theatre, including Jack J Fairley (Triskaidekaphobia) Hannah Fretwell (Demetrius Wakes) Martin Coates (Edging) Alice Marshall & Ben Lydon (Higher Ups) Grace Hussey-Burd (Until 9:25) and Artistic Director Jack Robertson (The Sociable Plover)
Barrels more fun than the RSC and much cheaper too! What are you waiting for?
