I AM OF IRELAND
5th Jun 2018 - 30th Jun 2018
A HUNDRED THOUSAND WELCOMES!’
But is the myth of open-hearted Ireland which her sons, daughters and visitors love, gone? Humour remains, sectarianism declines but racist violence is on the up – ask the new black priest Father Flannagan. As faith and idealism wane can Catholic Mary, Republican Dominic or Loyalist Derek still believe now, now, NOW?
Since 1998, Finnegan has worked closely with Scottish theatre director and artist, Ken McClymont on more than seven productions, most notably, DEAD FACES LAUGH, LIFE AFTER LIFE, DISAPORA JIGS, MURDER IN BRIDGPORT, WAITING FOR THE ANGELS and SPINOZA, all at the Old Red Lion Theatre.
Most recently on AFTER PARIS in 2016.
I AM OF IRELAND, 'a state of the nation play’ is the latest collaboration between this prolific Celtic duo.
