Who Killed Mr Punch?
By Elliot Thomas
An alcoholic, violent maniac. A woman pushed to the edge. A baby caught in the middle. A policeman out of his depth. A dog that just wants some sausages…Sound familiar?
Private Investigator Jack Spade hung up his police badge years ago, but the memory of Fudgy Sunday haunts him still. When one Mrs Judy Punch begs him to solve her husband’s murder case, Jack embarks on a whistle-stop tour of 1940s Brighton, rubbing shoulders with every dodgy character in the book.
Drawing inspiration from Film Noir and graphic novels, Doorstep Puppet Theatre presents a darkly comic reimagining of the Punch & Judy story told in shadow puppetry.
Inventive, intelligent & intriguing. Not since Avenue Q has a group of adults been so thoroughly entertained by a Puppet Show. “Who Killed Mr. Punch” is an absolute joy

Absolutely gobsmacked at the quality of the production. Hilarious, moving, beautifully executed, I could go on.

We laughed from beginning to end and were totally absorbed. The script is excellent and it is delivered and designed beautifully. The show kept us chuckling into the next day.
