Administrator and Front of House Staff
Administrator
The Old and New Red Lion Theatres are looking for an Administrator to work alongside the Artistic Directors and Literary Manager, supporting them on a day to day basis in the management of both venues.
The Old Red Lion Theatre has established a reputation over the past 30 years for presenting excellent emerging artists, and developing exciting new work. The New Red Lion Theatre, opened in October 2010, has quickly built a name for itself as a dynamic performance space, programming a wide range of comedy, from stand-up and sketch to plays.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for theatre and comedy and some knowledge of London's theatre/comedy scenes, and have a keen eye for detail. Experience of both Microsoft and Mac platforms would be welcomed, as would experience of box office operation, theatre general management, budgeting, casting, and marketing.
Please note that the job is offered at £100.00 per week, but that a further £100.00 per week is available if the successful candidate would like to take box office or bar shifts at either venue.

Front of House Staff
Working as part of Red Lion Theatres, the role is to cover box office and front of house duties as required at the New Red Lion Theatre and to sell tickets to the public whilst maintaining a high level of customer care at all times. The box office works to actively maximise each sales opportunity by collecting patron data and offering advise and information on forthcoming shows.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Operating the Box Office at the New Red Lion;
- Selling tickets in person and ensuring accurate customer data and information is captured on to the Box Office system;
- Reconciling all cash, card and online bookings at the close of each shift;
- Liaising with the production stage manager and issuing front of house clearance;
- To have a good working knowledge of the Red Lion's online ticketing system and to be able to advise customers on how to make and manage bookings;
- To ensure regular reading of all forthcoming production materials at the theatre;
- Dealing with the public in an informative and courteous manner and if appropriate referring any comments or complaints to the theatre management;
- To comply with Red Lion Theatre's Health and Safety policy at all times;
- To provide assistance with any relevant areas of the Marketing Strategy; and
- Ensuring strict adherence to the Data Protection Act.
Please note that the job is offered at £10.00 per shift (2 hours) with food and drink on duty. The box office is open daily from 6pm to 8pm.
Experience of working in a busy Box Office, or working in a theatre is essential, and the ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, have cash handling experience, and great customer service skills.
The ideal candidate will be efficient, with attention to detail, be responsible and be calm under pressure.
