BLINK. THEATRE PRESENTS RESPONSE 3: REALITY & QUARRY

 

Blink. Theatre's critically acclaimed production Response is back! After sold-out runs at Alyth Synagogue, the Courtyard and The Old Red Lion theatres in 2017, this regular new writing night returns to once again put the focus on nurturing emerging and under-represented writers and actors. In this series of selected solo plays, Blink. looks at the theme of Reality. What does reality mean, how do we define it, and what does it look like in the continually changing  modern world? 

 

Expect startlingly observed and inspired new work in this celebration of new writing. 

 

Response3: Reality is followed by brand new one woman comedy QUARRY by Rachel Smart. 

 

Gemma is really quite scared. Of a lot. How not to become a Tinder using sociopath, how to stop rewarding yourself with over-priced poached eggs on toast, how to un-stick your stuck life. Gemma is going to find her voice, but she's not entirely sure what it will sound like. Or if she will like it much. 

 

Developed from a short play staged as part of Response 2: Power in 2017, Quarry is an insightful, brutally honest tale of one woman's struggle for confidence and clarity in the modern world. Join us to witness Gemma as she discovers a few home truths and goes on a spectacularly funny journey into her inner soul.

Due to popular demand, at 2pm on Monday 30th April, Blink. will present an additional matinee showing of QUARRY by Rachel Smart. This will be an opportunity to see this hilarious, new one woman show as a stand-alone piece - running at approx. 45 minutes. Tickets for this performance are priced at £8, and the show will be followed by an informal Q&A, discussing the work and its potential for future development.
